Raylene was born and raised in Amherst, Novia Scotia where she graduated from Amherst Regional High School in 1988. She earned her diploma in nursing from Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing in Novia Scotia in 1991. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Chicago, IL in 2012. In December of 2015, Raylene completed her Master of Science in Midwifery degree at the Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University.

Raylene began her nursing career in 1991 where she worked as a supervisory RN at High-Crest Nursing Home in Springhill, Novia Scotia. In 1994, she moved to Texas where she worked as a staff nurse on the labor and delivery unit at Nacogdoches Medical Center. She then moved to Bangor in 2002 and worked as a staff nurse at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center on the labor and delivery unit. In 2006, Raylene began working as the Clinical Supervisor at Bangor Ob/Gyn while also remaining part time at Northern Light Health. While attending Midwifery school, she transitioned to a job closer to home and worked at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse on the labor and delivery unit from 2013 to 2016. Upon graduating, Raylene returned to Bangor Ob/Gyn in 2016 where she worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife up until their closure in May of 2022. She then joined our office and has been providing the same exceptional care to our patients. 

Raylene works closely with her obstetric patients to design a comprehensive but individualized plan of care. She strives to provide a birthing experience that leaves new mothers feeling empowered and involved in the decision-making process of their labor and delivery. In addition to providing prenatal and postpartum care, Raylene is also skilled in IUD insertions and other contraceptive management, routine gynecological care, and preconception counseling to include saline infused sonograms. 

Raylene lives in Clifton with her husband Craig. Together they have six children and three granddaughters. In her spare time, she enjoys mountain biking, skiing the slopes at Sugarloaf, spending time with her family, and has a new found love for gardening. Raylene enjoys living a healthy lifestyle and is even a certified Beach Body and Life Coach.
